OUR HAPPY LIFE – Architecture and Well-Being

Exhibition in the Canadian Centre of Architecture – Five month successfully completed

We are happy to look back on five months exhibition of the crucial topic “Our Happy Life: Architecture and Well-Being in the Age of Emotional Capitalism” with our project a Munich office for the Marsh & McLennan Companies and Mercer.

All over the world, the role of materials, design and location in improving well-being is being explored again. Up until mid October 2019, the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montreal has been hosting the exhibition. It includes architectural work by the Munich-based company CSMM – architecture matters, which has been advising Marsh & McLennan Companies on office design since 2016. As a corporate consultancy on quality of life in cities, subsidiary Mercer is also participating in the exhibition.

We are happy to have realized projects for the MARSH & McLENNAN COMPANIES in eight cities; since their first cooperation with Timo Brehme in 2006, they have engaged CSMM – architecture matters (formerly: conceptsued°) for all their offices in Germany. Here are pictures of some of the locations:

Curator Francesco Garutti has been giving an interview during the exhibition on: How do we measure the quality of our lives? What is the data behind happiness? Over the last decade, lists of indicators, indices, and rankings, commissioned and produced by public and private entities alike, have changed how we perceive and design the spaces we inhabit.

Asking whether the producers of rankings can be considered to be the designers of the cities today, Francesco Garutti is explaining the exhibition hall among others representing Marsh & McLennan Companies and Mercer.
