Fittech Office Concept by CSMM for Freeletics Wins German Design Award

Munich, 5 December 2023 – The planning and consulting company CSMM concludes the year 2023 with another accolade in the field of interior design: The company's innovative Fittech office concept for Munich-based startup Freeletics has received the prestigious German Design Award. The award recognizes CSMM's achievement in creating a dynamic corporate architecture spanning 6,500 square meters in building M4 of the "Die Macherei" district. The Fittech office concept ingeniously captures the unique Freeletics lifestyle in spatial design. Sport takes center stage as the core business, with five floors dedicated to collaboration and retreat spaces, areas for informal gatherings, socializing, and dedicated zones for lectures and sports activities, fostering inspiration and productivity.

Freeletics has garnered a massive following, with millions of sports enthusiasts from over 175 countries using their leading AI-based fitness and lifestyle coaching app. Notably, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Freeletics experienced a staggering 300% growth, solidifying its position as a global sports and lifestyle company. "Challenging and inspiring each individual in our team to become the best version of themselves, both mentally and physically, has been our vision since the beginnings of Freeletics in 2013," says Freeletics CEO Daniel Sobhani. "Our entire team lives the brand mindset." CSMM engaged in a fruitful dialogue with Freeletics to design spaces conducive to the agile working processes of their employees. The outcome is a remarkable open-space concept spanning five floors, seamlessly integrating indoor and outdoor training areas that reflect Freeletics' core business of sports. Standout features include a 35-meter indoor sprint track and a 25-meter sprint track on the 6th floor rooftop, symbolizing identity-establishing spatial planning. The office space includes conference rooms, workshop areas, and a grandstand with seating to promote collaborative cooperation among employees. A stage was designed for presentations, events, and for showcasing the latest sports exercises. "The team meets at 7 a.m. to work out together or has breakfast or lunch together in the communal kitchen," explains Kerstin Littel, responsible studio lead at CSMM. "It was important for us to create a vibrant and lively identification space that translates the dynamics and business area of Freeletics into spatial dimensions. The German Design Award serves as a special recognition of this achievement and ultimately strengthens the company's employer branding."
